وَاِذْ وٰعَدْنَا مُوْسٰٓى اَرْبَعِيْنَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ وَاَنْتُمْ ظٰلِمُوْنَ
وَإِذْ : And when
وَٰعَدْنَا : We appointed
مُوسَىٰٓ : (for) Musa
أَرْبَعِينَ : forty
لَيْلَةً : nights.
ثُمَّ : Then
ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ : you took
ٱلْعِجْلَ : the calf
مِنۢ : from
بَعْدِهِۦ : after him
وَأَنتُمْ : and you
ظَٰلِمُونَ : (were) wrongdoers
وَٰعَدْنَا : We appointed
مُوسَىٰٓ : (for) Musa
أَرْبَعِينَ : forty
لَيْلَةً : nights.
ثُمَّ : Then
ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ : you took
ٱلْعِجْلَ : the calf
مِنۢ : from
بَعْدِهِۦ : after him
وَأَنتُمْ : and you
ظَٰلِمُونَ : (were) wrongdoers
Wa iz waa'adnaa Moosaaa arba'eena lailatan summattakhaztumul 'ijla mim ba'dihee wa antum zaalimoon
And [recall] when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights. Then you took [for worship] the calf after him, while you were wrongdoers.
