اَوَكُلَّمَا عٰھَدُوْا عَهْدًا نَّبَذَهٗ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْھُمْ ۭ بَلْ اَكْثَرُھُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ
أَوَكُلَّمَا : And is (it not that) whenever
عَٰهَدُوا۟ : they took
عَهْدًا : a covenant,
نَّبَذَهُۥ : threw it away
فَرِيقٌ : a party
مِّنْهُمۚ : of them?
بَلْ : Nay,
أَكْثَرُهُمْ : most of them
لَا : (do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ : believe.
عَٰهَدُوا۟ : they took
عَهْدًا : a covenant,
نَّبَذَهُۥ : threw it away
فَرِيقٌ : a party
مِّنْهُمۚ : of them?
بَلْ : Nay,
أَكْثَرُهُمْ : most of them
لَا : (do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ : believe.
Awa kullamaa 'aahadoo ahdan nabazahoo fareequm minhum; bal aksaruhum laa yu'minoon
Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe.
