30 Wa iz qaala rabbuka lil malaaa'ikati

وَاِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةِ اِنِّىْ جَاعِلٌ فِى الْاَرْضِ خَلِيْفَةً ۭ قَالُوْٓا اَتَجْعَلُ فِيْهَا مَنْ يُّفْسِدُ فِيْهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاۗءَ ۚ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۭ قَالَ اِنِّىْٓ اَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ

وَإِذْ : And when  
  قَالَ : said  
  رَبُّكَ : your Lord  
  لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ : to the angels,  
  إِنِّى : "Indeed, I (am)  
  جَاعِلٌ : going to place  
  فِى : in  
  ٱلْأَرْضِ : the earth  
  خَلِيفَةًۖ : a vicegerent,  
  قَالُوٓا۟ : they said,  
  أَتَجْعَلُ : "Will You place  
  فِيهَا : in it  
  مَن : (one) who  
  يُفْسِدُ : will spread corruption  
  فِيهَا : in it  
  وَيَسْفِكُ : and will shed  
  ٱلدِّمَآءَ : the bloods,  
  وَنَحْنُ : while we,  
  نُسَبِّحُ : we glorify (You)  
  بِحَمْدِكَ : with Your praises  
  وَنُقَدِّسُ : and we sanctify  
  لَكَۖ : to You  
  قَالَ : said,  
  إِنِّىٓ : "Indeed, I (am),  
  أَعْلَمُ : I know  
  مَا : what  
  لَا : not  
  تَعْلَمُونَ : you know."

Wa iz qaala rabbuka lil malaaa'ikati innee jaa'ilun fil ardi khaleefatan qaalooo ataj'alu feehaa mai yufsidu feehaa wa yasfikud dimaaa'a wa nahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wa nuqaddisu laka qaala inneee a'lamu maa laa ta'lamoon

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
