83 Wa iz akhaznaa

وَاِذْ اَخَذْنَا مِيْثَاقَ بَنِىْٓ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ لَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ ۣوَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ اِحْسَانًا وَّذِي الْقُرْبٰى وَالْيَتٰمٰى وَالْمَسٰكِيْنِ وَقُوْلُوْا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْـنًا وَّاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ ۭثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا مِّنْكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ

وَإِذْ : And when  
  أَخَذْنَا : We took  
  مِيثَٰقَ : (the) covenant  
  بَنِىٓ : (from the) Children  
  إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ : (of) Israel,  
  لَا : "Not  
  تَعْبُدُونَ : you will worship  
  إِلَّا : except  
  ٱللَّهَ : Allah,  
  وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ : and with the parents  
  إِحْسَانًا : (be) good  
  وَذِى : and (with)  
  ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ : relatives  
  وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ : and the orphans  
  وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ : and the needy,  
  وَقُولُوا۟ : and speak  
  لِلنَّاسِ : to the people  
  حُسْنًا : good,  
  وَأَقِيمُوا۟ : and establish  
  ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ : the prayer  
  وَءَاتُوا۟ : and give  
  ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ : the zakah.  
  ثُمَّ : Then  
  تَوَلَّيْتُمْ : you turned away,  
  إِلَّا : except  
  قَلِيلًا : a few  
  مِّنكُمْ : of you,  
  وَأَنتُم : and you (were)  
  مُّعْرِضُونَ : refusing.

Wa iz akhaznaa meesaaqa Baneee Israaa'eela laa ta'budoona illal laaha wa bil waalidaini ihsaananw wa zil qurbaa walyataamaa walmasaakeeni wa qooloo linnaasi husnanw wa aqeemus salaata wa aatuzZakaata summa tawallaitum illaa qaleelam minkum wa antum mu'ridoon

And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.
