وَاِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلٰۗىِٕكَةِ اسْجُدُوْا لِاٰدَمَ فَسَجَدُوْٓا اِلَّآ اِبْلِيْسَ ۭ اَبٰى وَاسْتَكْبَرَ ڭ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ
وَإِذْ : And when
قُلْنَا : We said
لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ : to the angels,
ٱسْجُدُوا۟ : "Prostrate
لِءَادَمَ : to Adam,"
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ : so they prostrated
إِلَّآ : except
إِبْلِيسَ : Iblis.
أَبَىٰ : He refused
وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ : and was arrogant
وَكَانَ : and became
مِنَ : of
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ : the disbelievers.
قُلْنَا : We said
لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ : to the angels,
ٱسْجُدُوا۟ : "Prostrate
لِءَادَمَ : to Adam,"
فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ : so they prostrated
إِلَّآ : except
إِبْلِيسَ : Iblis.
أَبَىٰ : He refused
وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ : and was arrogant
وَكَانَ : and became
مِنَ : of
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ : the disbelievers.
Wa iz qulnaa lilmalaaa'i katis judoo liAadama fasajadooo illaaa Ibleesa abaa wastakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
