وَاِذْ نَجَّيْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ اٰلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُوْمُوْنَكُمْ سُوْۗءَ الْعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُوْنَ اَبْنَاۗءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُوْنَ نِسَاۗءَكُمْ ۭ وَفِىْ ذٰلِكُمْ بَلَاۗءٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيْمٌ
وَإِذْ : And when
نَجَّيْنَٰكُم : We saved you
مِّنْ : from
ءَالِ : (the) people
فِرْعَوْنَ : (of) Firaun
يَسُومُونَكُمْ : (who were) afflicting you (with)
سُوٓءَ : horrible
ٱلْعَذَابِ : torment,
يُذَبِّحُونَ : slaughtering
أَبْنَآءَكُمْ : your sons
وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ : and letting live
نِسَآءَكُمْۚ : your women.
وَفِى : And in
ذَٰلِكُم : that
بَلَآءٌ : (was) a trial
مِّن : from
رَّبِّكُمْ : your Lord
عَظِيمٌ : great
نَجَّيْنَٰكُم : We saved you
مِّنْ : from
ءَالِ : (the) people
فِرْعَوْنَ : (of) Firaun
يَسُومُونَكُمْ : (who were) afflicting you (with)
سُوٓءَ : horrible
ٱلْعَذَابِ : torment,
يُذَبِّحُونَ : slaughtering
أَبْنَآءَكُمْ : your sons
وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ : and letting live
نِسَآءَكُمْۚ : your women.
وَفِى : And in
ذَٰلِكُم : that
بَلَآءٌ : (was) a trial
مِّن : from
رَّبِّكُمْ : your Lord
عَظِيمٌ : great
Wa iz najjainaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoonakum sooo'al azaabi yuzabbihoona abnaaa'akum wa yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'um mir Rabbikum 'azeem
And [recall] when We saved your forefathers from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
