54 Wa iz qaala Moosaa

وَاِذْ قَالَ مُوْسٰى لِقَوْمِهٖ يٰقَوْمِ اِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ اَنْفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوْبُوْٓا اِلٰى بَارِىِٕكُمْ فَاقْتُلُوْٓا اَنْفُسَكُمْ ۭ ذٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ عِنْدَ بَارِىِٕكُمْ ۭ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۭ اِنَّھٗ ھُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ

وَإِذْ : And when  
  قَالَ : said  
  مُوسَىٰ : Musa  
  لِقَوْمِهِۦ : to his people,  
  يَٰقَوْمِ : "O my people!  
  إِنَّكُمْ : Indeed, you  
  ظَلَمْتُمْ : you have wronged  
  أَنفُسَكُم : yourselves  
  بِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُ : by your taking  
  ٱلْعِجْلَ : the calf.  
  فَتُوبُوٓا۟ : So turn in repentance  
  إِلَىٰ : to  
  بَارِئِكُمْ : your Creator,  
  فَٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ : and kill  
  أَنفُسَكُمْ : yourselves.  
  ذَٰلِكُمْ : That  
  خَيْرٌ : (is) better  
  لَّكُمْ : for you  
  عِندَ : with  
  بَارِئِكُمْ : your Creator."  
  فَتَابَ : Then He turned  
  عَلَيْكُمْۚ : towards you.  
  إِنَّهُۥ : Indeed He!  
  هُوَ : He  
  ٱلتَّوَّابُ : (is) the-returning,  
  ٱلرَّحِيمُ : the Most Merciful.
Wa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmihee yaa qawmi innakum zalamtum anfusakum bittikhaa zikumul 'ijla fatoobooo ilaa Baari'ikum faqtulooo anfusakum zaalikum khairul lakum 'inda Baari'ikum fataaba 'alaikum; innahoo Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
