67 Wa iz qaala Moosaa

وَاِذْ قَالَ مُوْسٰى لِقَوْمِهٖٓ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَاْمُرُكُمْ اَنْ تَذْبَحُوْا بَقَرَةً ۭ قَالُوْٓا اَتَتَّخِذُنَا ھُزُوًا ۭ قَالَ اَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ اَنْ اَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْجٰهِلِيْنَ

وَإِذْ : And when  
  قَالَ : said  
  مُوسَىٰ : Musa  
  لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ : to his people,  
  إِنَّ : "Indeed,  
  ٱللَّهَ : Allah  
  يَأْمُرُكُمْ : commands you  
  أَن : that  
  تَذْبَحُوا۟ : you slaughter  
  بَقَرَةًۖ : a cow."  
  قَالُوٓا۟ : They said,  
  أَتَتَّخِذُنَا : "Do you take us  
  هُزُوًاۖ : (in) ridicule."  
  قَالَ : said,  
  أَعُوذُ : "I seek refuge  
  بِٱللَّهِ : in Allah  
  أَنْ : that  
  أَكُونَ : I be  
  مِنَ : among  
  ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ : the ignorant."

Wa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmiheee innal laaha yaamurukum an tazbahoo baqaratan qaalooo atattakhizunna huzuwan qaala a'oozu billaahi an akoona minal jaahileen

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."

 Interpretation
